About 50 Days of Writing

To begin with, I have the best husband ever.  Brian sees me at my best and he sees me at my worst, and still he loves me.  As a child, I wanted to be an author like Laura Ingalls Wilder, L. M. Montgomery, or Louisa May Alcott.  As I grew, my tastes broadened (although I still love all three!), but my dream began to shrivel.  In fact, that dream would be dead and buried were it not for Brian’s constant encouragement.

In October we moved cross country from Texas to Michigan, and I began that horrid task – job searching – again, until Brian made a suggestion.  On November 8, we agreed that I should try to write professionally.  For 50 days, I will write and seek ways to publish my work.  Then, on December 28, after Christmas celebrations are over, we will reevaluate.  I know my tendency to get frustrated and give up on a project, and a time limit may keep me working.  If writing still seems promising, I will continue.  If not, I will put aside the dream for a few years and find myself a normal job. Wish me luck!
